What is Leadership Coaching?

Coaching is personalized professional development designed to meet the complex needs and goals of teacher leaders. It is a one on one relationship, with a trained skilled professional who can support you in achieving you professional goals, and taking your performance as a teacher to extraordinary levels.

Coaching has been embraced in the business world for CEO's and executives for years as an effective way to provide deliberate support to executives and managers in goal attainment and improving productivity. Teacher leaders are accomplished, goal oriented adult learners with unique needs. The need for individualization at the higher levels of leadership is key, one-size-fits-all simply won't work for the teacher leader trying to navigate the multi-faceted and complex nature of their unique school system and their role within it. Leadership coaching is professional development personalized to the unique goals and needs and goal of teacher leaders.

How It Works

Because this is a personalized relationship based on your needs and desires, how often you work with your coach depends on what will be most effective in supporting you in attaining your goals and developing your skills as a teacher leader. Coaching can take place face to face, or over the phone.

Our Rates

Coaching rates vary depending on the coach. Please visit our list of coaching and corresponding rates for details.

Day Rates

Day rates work best in districts where several teacher leaders are receiving coaching. Our coaches can accommodate 7 coaching sessions in a one-day visit.

Phone Coaching / Hourly Rates

Phone coaching is an option that allows for flexibility in scheduling and "just in time" support for your needs. Rates range from $110 per hour to $150 per hour and times are arranged to fit your schedule and meet your needs.

Heather Knight, M.A.

Heather Knight serves as the Vice President of the Powerful Teaching and Learning Group and holds an MA in Professional Development. She has been a classroom teacher and principal and is a certified coach. Heather has extensive experience coaching teachers, administrators, coaches and professional learning communities.
